"I Will Not Live in Fear!" - Great motto, right? But how many people are living it?
There are more types of fear than we could name or count, but they all tend to steal our dreams and destroy our destiny. In Who Switched Off My Brain, Dr. Caroline Leaf reports that fear "triggers more than 1,400 known physical and chemical responses - it actually 'marinates' the body in toxic chemicals and is the root of all stress."
One of the greatest thieves of our dreams is the fear of failure - it prevents us from trying new things or stretching ourselves to do more than we feel comfortable.
It can paralyze us and prohibit our ability to discover new things or create a better life. Destinies are destroyed by a fear of discomfort, fear of lack, fear of sacrifice, fear of something new. Fear always tells you what you're not, what you cannot do, what you will never be – not what you can be! Unfortunately, I've found that it usually lives up to its name - False Evidence Appearing Real - as many people simply forego the opportunity to explore options that may create the life they want due to preconceived assumptions or limitations and lack of knowledge of the wide range of opportunities
out there.
I believe that each of us was created to enjoy life in abundance - to take bold steps to achieve the kind of life that few dare to dream. So many people are unsatisfied with their lives simply because they won't step out of their "safe zone," which may feel secure, but not always where the joy of life can be found.
Feel the fear and do it anyway. It will never go away completely. Feeling fear does not mean we are cowards - it simply means we are human. Do what you believe you were supposed to do to make your dreams a reality even if you have to do it afraid. You can always simply stay where you are today, but at least you can say that you gathered the information, explored your options and made a proactive decision that you are where you need to be.
